East Masters Hockey 2011-12
Regional Tournaments.
The following people are the organisers of the East Masters sides that compete in the annual Regional Tournaments. Each person named below is responsible for the co-ordination of sides to represent the East at the relevant age group. There should be trials arranged by each organiser, to which any player of the relevant age and who lives, was born or plays their hockey in the East can apply to attend. Ages are determined as at the end of the year in which the tournament is held and trials are usually held from February onwards. For details of trials for any of the groups, players are advised to contact the organiser. At Regional Tournaments, further selection takes place for England sides at these age groups. East Masters Working Group comprises those asterisked below, plus Crawford McKee (Chelmsford). David Wright is Chairman (01525 220474, dwright@dircon.co.uk). There is a consultation group of John Hendy, Sally Tippin, Bob King and Bob Oakley looking after masters hockey in the East.

The Regional Men's Over 50's competition takes place at Beeston HC on Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th May 2012.
The O45's Regional Tournament takes place this year at the Leeds University Sports ground, Weetwood, Leeds . The date of the tournament is Saturday 12 th and Sunday 13 th May 2012. Over the tournament we will play against the other regions (North (our hosts), South, West, Midlands, Scotland and Wales ). It is always a great weekend of competitive hockey, with a social twist! East Vintage Masters 55+ Trials, Update : The squad will be holding trials on Sundays 5th and 26th February at The Leys School, Cambridge CB2 7AD. Trials will be from 1.30pm until 3.00pm on the 5th and from 1.00pm to 3.00pm on the 26th - please arrive early in order to start on time. The trials are open to all eligible players - those who were born at any time in the years 1953 to 1957 inclusive. So if you are eligible and interested please do come and join us. Further practice matches have been arranged for March and April. Two squads of players will be selected for the Annual UK Regional Vintage Masters 55 + Tournament at Chelmsford HC in May [12th / 13th]. East Grand Masters 60+ Trials, Update : The squad will be holding trials on Sundays 4th March at Clarence Park . St Albans Herts. AL1 4NE . Trials will be from 1500 Hrs 1700 Hrs - please arrive early in order to start on time. Please bring White and Coloured shirt. The trials are open to all eligible players - those who were born at any time in the years 1948 - 1952 - So if you are eligible and interested please do come and join us. Further practice matches have been arranged for March and April. If you cannot make the dates of the Trials then you can attend the practice games. One squad of players will be selected for the Annual UK Regional Grand Masters 60 + Tournament at Chelmsford HC in May 19th - 20th - Further information from Phil Withers - 07708 777002
East Lady Masters will be holding trials and training prior to the tournaments. Players who are interested in representing the East in either side should contact the Administrator in the first instance. Dates and venues for trials will be confirmed in due course. At Regional Tournaments, further selection takes place for England teams at these age groups.
The women's clubs masters tournament age group is for the over 40s. Teams can play 3 non-club players for season 2011-12. There will be an East round (organised by Canterbury HC - last season's winners) and it will be held on Sunday 25 March 2012, from 11am-5pm. The National Final of this competition is on the weekend of 21/22 April, with the O40s on Sat 21 Apr and O35s on Sun 22 Apr.
Please also note that the 3 rd year of the knock-out competition for over 35s has been organised by EHB, with dates prescribed. You will need to contact EHB if you wish to take part.
